Your internet connection should be at least 10MBPS and your computer should meet TCI’s system requirements (http://www.teachtci.com/requirements.html).
To test your current connection speed, you can go here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/. If you find that your speed is slower than 10MBPS and you’re using a wireless connection, try switching to a wired connection. If you are still unable to reach this rate, please contact your school IT team.
TCI Teacher Subscriptions are web-based, allowing you to access materials from any web-enabled device. You can modify presentations at home and have your changes available at school or start customizing an assessment at school, then finish in the evening.
Teachers are sometimes concerned about having reliable internet access at school. To ensure classroom success, we recommend that you open the Classroom Presentations before class starts. Once the presentation is loaded, you can continue to use it, even if your connection is lost.
Here are a few additional steps you can take if you anticipate teaching without the Classroom Presentation:
- Download the printable Lesson Guide in advance. These procedures include step by step instructions to make your lesson successful.
- Download the Placards and Visuals in advance. These key images are used in the presentation. With the images and the Procedures, you have the basic materials you’ll need to teach the lesson.
- Download the Materials in advance. The Materials often contain information and handouts for students.
